Friends of Rosa

Friends of Rosa is a new supporters’ group for the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz. Together, in a spirit of friendship yet not without some controversy, they set out in search of evidence and truths that can change life for the better. The Friends of Rosa are interested in progressive alliances and solidarity, in those moments that tip the balance or those fleeting glitches that alter the course of events. Just as on the stage which they love and support, the Friends believe that another world is possible. Founded in February 2026, its goal is to support the Volksbühne and carry on its legacy: The theatre was built in the early 20th century with funding from a workers’ movement association, a ‚friendly society‘. And what was created by a joint effort, should also be carried forward through the combined forces of a circle of friends. Friends of Rosa invites interested parties and friends of the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz to join this circle.The Friends support the Volksbühne in its artistic aspirations and provides input for events that encourage free and open debate on important social issues, offering a forum for exchanging ideas among friends. Every year, the circle of friends will embark on a trip to attend a special theatre production or festival.
