On All Hallows’ Day, the Kiki explores the realms between memory and imagination, myth and contemporary life. Inspired by folklore, fairy tales, legends, and cultural traditions, ballroom performers from across Europe compete in various categories, bringing stories, characters, and a wide variety of different worlds to the runway. In the spaces between fashion, performance, and realness, cultural memories meet new narratives, forming new identities, affiliations, and fantasies.

Between Worlds Kiki invites everyone – participants, community members, and first-time ballgoers – to experience ballroom as an exciting scene promoting collective imagination, creative transformation, and a vibrant sense of community.

In the context of the School of Self-Defense, the aim is to shed light on the stories that are passed down through bodies, gestures, and the community: Ballroom as living archive.
