ANALYSIS

ANALYSIS (working title) is a programme for collective political education brought together by writer and cultural worker Lama El Khatib and Philosopher Henrike Kohpeiß. Through a cluster of interconnected events – including collective study groups, film screenings and artistic interventions amongst other formats – the programme will address contemporary political urgencies in their social, aesthetic, affective, and discursive dimensions.

The first cycle unfolds around the global intensification of military infrastructures and technologies. Bringing together researchers, antiwar activists, and historical texts to analyse the political economy of war and international resistance to it. The second cycle takes Peter Weiss’ Aesthetics of Resistance as a point of departure to question the relationship between politics and aesthetics in the past and present. What role can art – and the artist – play in today’s reality?
