Once a quarter, the Volksbühne invites Berlin-based artists onto the stage of the Roter Salon to spend a long night exploring, through their own artistic practice, the mother of all interdisciplinary formats: the lecture performance. A form that has been circulating between disciplines since the 1960s, placing the art of storytelling at its heart and infiltrating both the theatre and the lecture hall in equal measure. It has long since become a genre in its own right. The experimental setup is therefore as simple as it is open: lecture performance, 20 minutes.
